Dr. O. K. Harsh is a distinguished Indo-Australian scientist, educator, and former Pro-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor. With a rich background in Condensed Matter Plasma Physics, Solar Engineering, and Computer Science. Dr. Harsh has made significant contributions to knowledge management in six countries. His international experience spans six countries, including Australia, where he collaborated with renowned scientists. Dr. O. K. Harsh embodies a legacy of academic excellence and multidisciplinary expertise, shaping the future of education and research. Prof Harsh Main’s work across the countries has involved managing the delivery of skill center-oriented education, facilitating the creation of skill centers in these countries, and interacting with industry and academia in a digital environment. His research work on knowledge management and knowledge reuse, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, and Solar Cells has been skill-center-oriented, contributing further to his efforts in making skill education meaningful. For this, Prof. Harsh has leveraged his TAFE (Australian Technical and Further Education) knowledge, acquired during his Australian education, as well as Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Solar Cells. Prof. Harsh’s further contribution to modern Indian religious culture, as well as a few basic physics phenomena, is widely evident in his YouTube videos, which explain ancient Indian facts and basic scientific concepts based on contemporary science and technology. He has produced several videos that are available online.
In addition, he has successfully conducted industry and competency-based training courses and promoted competency development through competency development centers in five countries. His research on knowledge management, knowledge and software reuse, and competency-based education contributes to resource conservation in practice, especially in countries like India. Professor Harsh's contributions to the Indian system are manifold. In addition to his Indian education, he draws on his Australian (and other) education and his experience in six countries. These helped him shape the Indian education system through his work on competency-based education in rural areas. Professor Harsh also used his experience to teach Indian religious traditions through science and technology, contributing to the understanding of the new generation in India.

Professor Om Kumar Harsh had the privilege of collaborating with distinguished scientists and eminent professors across Australia and India, whose pioneering contributions shaped contemporary academic and research landscapes. These engagements offered him unique windows into diverse schools of thought, advanced methodologies, and cross-cultural perspectives on science and innovation. Through these rich exchanges, Professor Harsh not only absorbed technical insight and intellectual depth but also cultivated a holistic, globally attuned approach to research and development — one that harmonized rigor with relevance and tradition with transformation. His professional philosophy emerged from these experiences as both well-rounded and future-oriented, anchored in wisdom gained from those at the forefront of discovery.In Australia, Professor Harsh had the unique opportunity to work with the internationally renowned Professor Martin Green, who supervised him during his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at the prestigious Special Research Centre of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney. Professor Harsh also worked closely with the esteemed Professor A.S.M. Sajeev, his PhD supervisor in Computer Science at the prestigious University of New England in Australia. Professor Harsh was mentored by Professors Yan Zhang (Western Sydney University) and Mukunda Das (Australian National University, Canberra). In India, Prof Harsh was supervised and guided by the late Prof B.K. Agarwal (HOD, Allahabad University), late Prof R. N. Singh (IT, BHU), and late Prof K.S. Srivastava (Lucknow University). He was mentored by the late Prof M.S. Sodha (VC, Lucknow University). Professor Om Kumar Harsh has actively collaborated with a range of distinguished international scientists in the fields of distance education and pedagogical innovation. These engagements have led to the co-creation of practical, skill-based teaching curricula anchored in contemporary information technology frameworks.
